Hello From The Hug!
(January/February 2007)
G’day all! Well, it’s very exciting and just a bit nerve-wracking, but here we are with the very first official Tag Along Teddies newsletter! It’s been on the “I must get around to that” list for quite some time, but somehow life kept interfering!! I hope you find it entertaining and informative.
The newsletter will keep all of you keen arctophiles (bear lovers!) out there up-to-date with what’s happening at the Tag Along Teddies Hug and let you know when patterns are released. I’ll also include some craft tips in each newsletter to help with your creative endeavours, so if you have specific questions or areas you need help with, just drop me an email and I’ll try to find an answer for the next newsletter. From time to time, there will also be some special offers just for newsletter subscribers, to thank you all for your support.
The biggest excitement for January/February (besides launching the first ‘Hello From The Hug”!) has been meeting the deadline for “Homespun”. The June issue of “Homespun” will feature a Tag Along Teddies project called “Bookworm Bear and the Hunney Hive”. Not only is it exciting to have one of my designs featuring in a craft magazine, it’s particularly thrilling because “Homespun” is my FAVOURITE craft magazine! So watch out for that and when you open the mag and see the project, imagine me doing my ‘happy dance’ a-la-Snoopy!! (For those who haven’t read many Snoopy comics, you’ve got some homework to do!! Tee! Hee! Hee!)
Since I’m still recovering from Christmas/New Year, there isn’t a lot more to report, so I’ll sign off for now and catch you all in the next ‘Hello From The Hug’!
CHEERS!

TIP
-
Before you use a new pattern, make photocopies of ALL pattern pieces. (not instructions!) Put the original pattern sheets in the pattern folder and work with photocopies, that way you will always have a pristine copy to go back to should you have an ‘oops’ or accumulate too many pin holes, pencil scribbles or spills.

When working on a project, it may help to find a manila pocket folder to keep everything in. Sometimes pattern pieces have to be folded to fit in their original packaging, which can be tedious and time consuming to get out and put away while you’re making the project and may need to frequently refer back to the pattern for markings etc. but not want to have your project strewn all over your work area. You can also keep samples of fabrics etc you’ve used to make up the project, in case you want to duplicate or match it at a later date. If you have a digital camera, you might like to take and print a photo of your finished project to keep in the folder, too. These folders are easy to store and are very portable if you’re off to a sewing group for the day or taking projects on holiday. You may like to go a step further and glue a photocopy of the pattern cover to the front of the folder so you can see at a glance which folder is which pattern.
